Serious Injury Claims
The psychological impact of a serious injury can be just as significant as the physical effects
When you suffer a sudden life-changing injury in an accident, many of those around you, including friends and family members, can often overlook the fact that the psychological impact of a serious injury can be just as significant as the physical effects. From our years of experience in this area, we know the challenges that you will face.
Below you’ll see some examples of what those who have suffered psychological damage may suffer – all of which are normal:
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD), anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders are not uncommon when someone has been through a traumatic event. They are psychological reactions that we would expect, and there is treatment available for them. Waiting lists for psychological therapy on the NHS are very long, and early intervention with treatment is crucial in order to stop conditions escalating and to help them to improve. The stress and worry of how you might cope after the trauma will make matters worse. If you start your compensation claim with us, we can try to secure funds to pay for your treatment for you. Our strong advice is don’t wait, but get your claim underway.
If you would like to discuss making a claim for compensation for your suffering psychological damage following a serious injury, please contact the Serious Injury team on 0161 615 5554 or email SeriousInjury@psg-law.co.uk
