Position: Law Costs Draftsman

The Role: 

We are seeking a Law Costs Draftsman with at least 3 years’ experience of dealing with complex Clinical Negligence matters to carry their own caseload. Prior experience within Clinical Negligence is essential.

This role includes, but is not limited to –

  • Preparation of Bills, with relevant experience of drafting in both standard, phased and electronic format. Commencing Detailed Assessment Proceedings and undertaking negotiations. Example Bill of Costs will be required.
  • Preparation of high value Precedent H / Precedent R and negotiations thereon.
  • Preparation of N260 Statement of Costs.
  • Requesting Detailed Assessment and preparing supporting bundles in advance.
  • Processing funds with the assistance of the Accounts Department.

This is a unique and varied role, ideal for anyone looking to broaden their experience and skill set.

The successful candidate will be working in a small, friendly team and reporting to the Head of Costs. Ongoing training and support will be provided where necessary.

This is a full-time role, however flexible working is available, with up to 3 days per week working from home.
All equipment required for remote access is provided.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • Minimum of 3 years experience of handling complex Clinical Negligence Costs matters (essential).
  • Credit control experience (preferable but not essential).
  • Strong IT skills.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our Clinical Negligence department for a passionate and dedicated 0 – 2 years PQE Solicitor to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence background and will possess the drive and passion it takes to succeed within this area of the law. They must also be able to offer an outstanding level of client care.

The department manages an extensive range of Clinical Negligence claims and you will need to be confident in managing your own case-load. Full training will be provided. You will initially be office-based, however homeworking opportunities may be available after a suitable period of training.

Our offices are based within the central, vibrant hub of Altrincham, which boasts excellent tram, train and public transport links.
