Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp joined the firm as a Consultant in May 2017. Originally qualifying as a State Registered Nurse (in 1986), she then chose to follow a career in law qualifying as a solicitor in 1992. She has an LLB with honours (1989) and a Masters Degree in Medical Ethics and Law (1996). She has over 25 years legal experience with a track record of securing six and seven figure settlements for her clients. She is passionate about getting the best outcome for her clients, many of whom have become life long friends.
She specialises in complex cases, including Cerebral Palsy, claims involving children, still birth and neonatal deaths, spinal injury claims, and failures in care of the elderly. Rosamund also deals with fatal accident claims and takes a particular interest in representing families at Inquests.
A prolific commentator on topical issues involving medical treatment, Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp is a contributory Author of the APIL Practical Guide to Medical Negligence Claims (2014; 2018). She has also written extensively on alternatives to litigation and has written a book on the subject to help those seeking redress via allied professional organisations as well as NHS and Private hospital treatment.
Rosamund was the Vice Chairman of the Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers and a member of the Law Society advisory committee on the Catastrophic Injury accreditation panel criteria to establish standards of specialism in these areas. She is also a Director of the Birth Trauma Association, a Charity that supports women affected by traumatic births and campaigns for better maternity care and outcomes.
In June 2015 she was appointed Assistant Coroner for Oxfordshire. In February 2017 she was also appointed Assistant Coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough – “the Oxbridge Coroner”.
Rosamund is actively involved in her local Community as Chair of her local Parish Council and enjoys being involved proactively in representing the interests of local people. For 15 years she was Chair of Governors of a local school bringing together staff and stakeholders in leading an improvement from an Ofsted rating of Satisfactory to Good.
Out of work Rosamund loves being with her close family and son or outside in the Countryside or City, regardless of the weather, walking her Dogs Teddy and Bella. She also enjoys cooking whatever they like best for friends and family, spending time with people who have neither and has ambitions to write a novel and speak fluent Italian.
