Michael James is a trainee solicitor, currently working in our Court of Protection department.
Michael graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2014 and went on to spend five and a half years working in the personal injury department of a well-known city centre law firm. He studied for his LPC from 2017-2019 at the Manchester School of Law. Prior to completing his LPC, Michael accepted a training contract by his then employer and completed just over 12 month’s work experience before deciding to adjust his career path, moving to Price Slater Gawne in June 2020.
Whilst much of Michael’s previous experience has revolved around Personal Injury claims, he will initially be taking up a temporary seat alongside Tom Young, Jade Price and Caz Kirkwood in our Court of Protection department, before moving into a more permanent role in the field where he eagerly wishes to progress his career – Medical Negligence.
Michael brings with him a broad amount of knowledge and experience in cases involving negligence and disputes. He is well versed in dealing with clients in unfortunate situations, including dealing with a ranging level of severity in personal injury claims. He is confident that the experience he has gained in dealing with pre and post-litigation matters will significantly aid his new role.
Originally from Stoke-On-Trent, Michael has lived in Manchester for the best part of 10 years and is an avid Manchester United supporter. You’ll often find him playing the latest video games (a self-confessed geek), and he loves watching films. He also has a soft spot for anything Whiskey related, which makes for some interesting gifts at Christmas!
