John Kitchingman0161 924 0052 firstname.lastname@example.org
John joined us as a Consultant Solicitor in 2014.
He is acknowledged as one of the leading claimant medical negligence solicitors in the country, winning numerous multi million pound claims for his clients.
In the mid 1980s he was the co-founder with Rodger Pannone of the clinical negligence department of Pannone & Partners undertaking a wide range of clinical negligence claims, later heading the department. As the department grew, he was able to specialise in acting for children and young adults with cerebral palsy following obstetric negligence including cases where the mechanism of injury was hypoglycaemic damage due to midwifery or paediatric negligence in the new-born period. Throughout his career he has had an interest in cases of perinatal death and maternal injury.
In 2000 he acted for the parents of conjoined Twins “Mary” and “Jodie” born in Manchester to Maltese parents. The proceedings about the lawfulness of the plan to separate the twins at an operation which would inevitably lead to the death of the weaker of them attracted media interest across the world. The decision of the Court of Appeal permitting the operation prompted much comment and analysis.
He has worked for claimants from all parts of the country and with the Bar in Manchester and London. He has enjoyed long-standing involvements with APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) and AvMA (Action Against Medical Accidents). AvMA is the UK charity for patient safety and justice. They provide free and confidential advice and support to people affected by medical accidents.
John is listed in Chambers and Partners where he is described as widely respected for his vast experience and “He’s very good at explaining things and is very personable,”
On joining the firm John said:
“I am very much looking forward to continuing my casework as a consultant with Price Slater Gawne. I have known Mark for many years and attempted more than once to recruit him . I had more success with Chris who joined Pannone in 2007. When time permits, I am an avid reader and student of history, especially that of the USA and of Spain. My interests are travel, cycling and Manchester United FC where I have been a season ticket holder for many years.”
You were a pleasure to deal with – professional, knowledgeable and approachable.
Mr A, Andover
