Successful settlement for patient of Muhammad Khan

Mr D from Manchester was a patient of Mr Muhammad Khan whose practice and methods are still currently being investigated by the General Medical Council.

Our client underwent a procedure known as Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery in order to treat his polyps. Unfortunately the procedure was not carried out with due care and skill and Mr D suffered extensive damage to his orbits and he required further specialist surgery to his eye to repair the damage.

The damage to his eye, which was caused during the sinus surgery led to his vision being damaged permanently. Mr D now has no useful vision in one eye.

Proceedings were brought against Mr Khan and we successfully negotiated a settlement of £120,000.

This case was handled by Lisa Ward an experienced medical negligence solicitor.

There remain conditions on Mr Khan’s practice and he is not permitted to perform any surgery and these conditions remain in place until 19/09/2015. The full list of conditions can be found on the GMC website http://www.gmc-uk.org/doctors/register/LRMP.asp
