Claims by the victims of the Rochdale sexual exploitation cases against social services moved a step closer today after the publication of a damning report which shows years of failures on the part of social services to protect the children in their care. Resources, work loads and poor training have been blamed. Regardless of this the report highlights how social services turned their attention away from young people and left them to their own devices and into the grip of the gangs who groomed them and used them for sexual exploitation.

Social services in these cases had responsibility for these children and young people in their care. Victims are consulting specialist lawyers like Victoria Price for advice on whether they can sue social services for not taking proper care of them and protecting them. They could also have CICA claims. As she explained earlier today:

“The abuse has left the victims’ lives in tatters. These young people need help to recover from the horrendous ordeals they have been through. Any claims will help them to access the treatment they need and to try to re-gain the education and employment opportunities they have lost. They need to be able to trust people again. They deserve a future.”
