Altrincham based solicitors firm, Price Slater Gawne are delighted to have expanded their Court of Protection team with the appointment of Caz Kirkwood and Michael James to work alongside the Head of Court of Protection; Tom Young.
The Court of Protection team work with clients who due to illness or a medical condition lack the capacity to make decisions in relation to their personal welfare and finances. The team assist with all aspects of Court of Protection from lay deputy applications to acting as professional deputy and making best interests decisions for clients.
Caz Kirkwood has joined the team as Court of Protection Administrator; a role which sees her involved in the day to day running of the department. Caz is involved in building relationships with existing clients, dealing with client queries and liaising with various agencies in order to support the management of clients’ finances.
Regarding joining the team, Caz commented:
“I am really pleased to join the Court of Protection team at Price Slater Gawne. Within this role, I feel I am able to help make a real difference to people’s lives and help someone each and every day”.
Michael James is currently a Trainee Solicitor with the firm. He has joined the Court of Protection team on a temporary basis as part of his training, prior to moving into a more permanent role in the Medical Negligence department. His role within the department sees him involved in assisting with court applications, management of client finances and relationship development.
“I am thrilled to have joined Price Slater Gawne as a Trainee Solicitor. Whilst I will only be a member of the Court of Protection team as one element of my training contract, I am delighted to be able to extend my understanding of this vital area of law, whilst offering support to our clients”.
