Whilst the hottest day of the year may have been and gone, it is still most definitely a warm welcome back to two members of the Price Slater Gawne team. Following their maternity leave, Claire Atkinson and Jade Price have both returned to their roles with the firm; Claire as Marketing Manager and Jade as Trainee Solicitor, both as mums to little boys.
Whilst both ladies have enjoyed maternity leave, albeit slightly differently than anticipated due to the restrictions enforced due to COVID-19, they have both expressed that they are looking forward to returning to their roles.
As a Trainee Solicitor, Jade is a key member of our Court of Protection department; working alongside the Head of Court of Protection. Our Court of Protection department supports people who – due to medical conditions or illness – are unable to manage their finances or make and manage their own welfare decisions. Jade assists with all aspects of Court of Protection work, such as the day to day administration and promotion of our clients’ property and financial interests, providing “best interests” and welfare support on things like care packages, medical treatment and recreational and leisure opportunities. The department acts in the capacity of a Professional Deputy for clients as well as supporting Court appointed lay deputies too.
Regarding returning to work, Jade told us:
“Whilst a maternity leave in lockdown during a global pandemic is certainly not what I was expecting, I have of course enjoyed spending precious time with my family albeit in extraordinary circumstances. This has certainly been a time on which to reflect, and I’m sure many of us are looking forward to a much brighter and safer future.
The past four months have been really important to me but I have missed our clients dearly. I am therefore really looking forward to returning to work and continuing to enjoy and develop our existing relationships and look forward to building strong relationships with new clients in the near future.
The current pandemic has been a worrying time for us all and has highlighted that we need each other more than ever! I feel extremely lucky that my job enables me to make a difference to our client’s lives on a daily basis and I am glad that I am able to support them through some of their most happiest and challenging times of their lives. I am looking forward to socially distanced face-to-face meetings with clients in the near future and I am excited to qualify as a Solicitor early next year.”
As Marketing Manager, Claire assists in promoting the firm and ensuring information is available for new and existing clients about Price Slater Gawne.
“Returning to my role after a period away could have been a daunting task, but working for a firm that offers flexibility and holds a strong commitment to employee work – life balance, I knew that I had nothing to worry about.
Instead, I am excited to be getting back into working with the team and to contributing to the ongoing success and growth of the firm”.
Victoria Price, Director at Price Slater Gawne commented:
“We are really pleased to be welcoming Claire and Jade back after their maternity leave. Its great to have them joining their teams again and we hope they enjoy the next few weeks as they settle back in”
