Accident at Work

Ms R contacted Price Slater Gawne after an accident at the shop she worked at left her with physical and psychological injuries.

As part of her role, Ms R was responsible for closing and locking large glass panelled doors around the shop at the end of her shift. During the five years she had been with the company she had done this same task in the same way without any problem.

On the day of the incident however, as she pushed the door along its tracks, the door stopped suddenly followed by a loud bang. Without warning, the glass door suddenly shattered, exploding towards her.

Glass penetrated her right thigh through two layers of clothing, causing a deep laceration and subsequently resulting in scarring. The incident was traumatic for Ms R, resulting in psychological injury alongside her physical injury.

Ms R received a financial settlement in relation to her injuries and in compensation for the expenses that she incurred as a result of the accident.

Regarding the legal process, Ms R commented “From my initial conversation through to my settlement, I was treated with respect and discretion. I was constantly updated with the progress of my claim and built a good rapport with Jade Price which made the whole process feel personal yet professional”.
